Frequently Asked Questions
About AnimeGoClub: is it free, how it differs from Bangumi/AniList/MAL, danmaku sources, OVA/ONA/movie differences.
Answering what you're probably wondering.
Is animego free?
Yes. No memberships, no episode locks, no VIP upgrades. Running costs are covered by open-source donations and our own pocket.
Why manual episode picking? Can't auto-match handle it?
Auto-match handles 90% — the remaining 10% goes sideways: title collisions, episode offsets, split seasons. Better to give you a one-tap fix when it happens than let you discover it broken.
Where does the danmaku come from?
In-site comments plus the Dandanplay API. The comment you see may be from yesterday — that's by design.
Will it go down one day?
Yes. This is a maintenance-mode project; we don't promise SLA. But when it does go down, we try not to lose your data.
Is there a mobile app?
Web only, for now. If it works in the browser, it works — we're not shipping an app just to ship an app.
